Just to give you a sense of scale. Distance to Mars, an interactive infographic by David Paliwoda and Jesse Williams.

Found this gem on Colossal, since I was browsing it yesterday. I seriously wonder if this guy Roelle went to or taught at RISD, though I can’t find any evidence to support that claim.
Artist CW Roelle lives and works in Providence, Rhode Island where he creates dense and detailed illustrations using carefully bent wire. While taking a life drawing course in 1997 Roelle was suddenly overcome with the urge to bend the lines he had already committed to paper. That night, and for many nights after, he began to recreate his line drawings with metal wire. You can see much more of his work over on Facebook, and he has some pieces available at 13FOREST.
This guy’s work is beautiful, and it makes me want to draw more, but it also makes me want to buy a spool of wire and bust out the needle nose pliers and try my hand at wire-art. See more on his Flickr.

First of all, congratulations to Mr. Christopher Jobson, curator of Colossal, for making the list. This is a long time coming, and very well deserved. As a graphic designer, I think one of the most valuable pieces of advice I ever received was from my Typography professor. Doug Scott said, [paraphrased] “When you’re looking for inspiration for a new project, don’t look at graphic design, because everything you’ve ever dreamed of has been done before. When you’re looking for inspiration for graphic design, look at the artists and the sculptors and the painters, photographers, and poets, because in their work is where you’ll find the spark of inspiration you’ve been looking for.” This is one of the reasons I so avidly read Colossal. Jobson posts a wide variety of materials in many fields, and it’s inspiring! Take a look a the rest of TED‘s list here.
Looking forward to East Village coffee shops and winter coats and scarves and actual real New York Bagels and ramen and spending time with my sister and then, of course, A State of Trance with Armin van Buuren. See you on the other side!

I can’t publish all of my designs here, because not everything has been launched yet. However, a lot of what I design is published almost immediately, because my main client is the Marketing Team at Lookout, so I’m always designing for Press or blog updates or for social media and email communications to our client base. You’ve seen most of this before, but it’s all consolidated now. I’ll update this more later.
I don’t know about you but I can see huge growth in the Brand even in my 7 months here. It’s interesting going straight from an environment like RISD, where I got to push the limits every single day, and I had a strong team of peers and professors to make sure I stretch my boundaries as a designer, to working on a small in-house team, where I’m essentially the main designer for Marketing. I get to reinvent what the brand looks like, but I’m not designing for myself anymore, so I need to make sure everything I work on is on track with everyone else’s thoughts on where the brand is going. Check back here for more soon (our new brand is launching in a few months!)
