100 sites you should know on TED

First of all, congratulations to Mr. Christopher Jobson, curator of Colossal, for making the list. This is a long time coming, and very well deserved. As a graphic designer, I think one of the most valuable pieces of advice I ever received was from my Typography professor. Doug Scott said, [paraphrased] “When you’re looking for inspiration for a new project, don’t look at graphic design, because everything you’ve ever dreamed of has been done before. When you’re looking for inspiration for graphic design, look at the artists and the sculptors and the painters, photographers, and poets, because in their work is where you’ll find the spark of inspiration you’ve been looking for.” This is one of the reasons I so avidly read Colossal. Jobson posts a wide variety of materials in many fields, and it’s inspiring! Take a look a the rest of TED‘s list here.
