Designer Dad and the Bag Lunch
What a way to eat a sandwich! My mom made interesting lunches for me in elementary school, then I made them for myself and my sister in high school, but I never thought to use it as a canvas. This is a great little slice of home in the school yard, and the fact that he documented them all makes it even better. I’ve got to wonder whether his kids keep the bags or throw them out. This is the story of David LaFerriere “from Attleboro who went to RISD many moons ago,” in his own words.
From Colossal:
Graphic designer and competitor for Best Dad Ever, David LaFerriere has been drawing illustrations on his children’s sandwich bags since 2008. Lucky for us he photographs almost every single one, over 1,100 of which you can explore over on Flickr.
“I’ve been doing it for my kids since they were little, They love it, and nothing makes me happier than hearing their reaction at the end of the day,” he says.
You can watch his short Flickr Moment here.
