Well I liked two of the projects in this Design;Defined feature, so I put them both. One, this liquid typography for Wired magazine, which reminds me of this liquid typography (there’s a cool video at the bottom of the page). Two, this really beautiful project, stationery and identity design. Designed by Piotr Buczkowski.

Better Living Through Design is one of those sites I love because everything on it is beautiful and exciting, but mostly, it’s useless overly-designed junk. :) It’s like our utopia, if we were able to design the perfect design-nerdy house, this is all the type of stuff we’d fill it with. This sofa and matching carpet, designed by Ron Arad, definitely speak to that glorious modularity and desire for a perfectly controlled (impractical) minimal living space (oops, I mean museum). So if you have that perfect, giant, white house and no worldly possessions to clutter up your space, go ahead and splurge on this colorblocking set! As for me, I’ll just keep building it in my mind. :)

Ethan Park, self titled Ethan is Sweet, a designer based in London, has some pretty sweet examples of physical typogaphy. Take a look at his portfolio, it’s really beautiful.

For a bit of humor, Oh Shit! Kits, designed by Eric Hollings, featured on Packaging of the World, who describes it as: Oh Shit Kits is a all round helper which can help you out if you suffered cuts in your office to needing a toothbrush if you forget one to even flares when you get lost in the jungle. Well, shit happens.

So I’m making some progress on my degree project. It has a name: “Positive Feedback” and I’ve been drawing a bajillion logos. I think I’ve honed in on one of them. The next step is for me to start planning the materials I’ll make. I need days to be 28 hours long, because I have class and I intern etc etc so busy! Anyway, here are some of my sketches.
