Goodness Gridness

I’ve published Shawn Hazen’s (of Hazen Creative) Book Worship blog before, but this post is about his other blog, Gridness. Gridness is an excellent archive of both new and vintage examples of the excellent use of the grid in graphic design material. Some of my favorite examples are from the Tschichold era, the Dieter Rams hey days era of Vitsœ and Braun; the systematically minimal, planned compositions that I wish it were possible to execute more in present-day collateral. As my coworker said, “this is a man after my own heart.” Shawn Hazen, I hope we get to have coffee and talk grids and typography someday! Cheers.
